Self Care Practices During COVID-19

1. Schedule your work hours with breaks for walks and stretching.

2. Get up and move at least 5 minutes of every hour after sitting at your desk.

3. Keep your water intake high and caffeine intake to a minimum.

4. Have healthy snacks available.

5. Turn off the computer or your device in the evenings.

6. Decompress with a healing bath of ½ cup sea salt and ½ cup baking soda

7. Do an online gym workout, dance or yoga class for energizing and de-stressing your body.

8. Find a walking buddy if possible and schedule a daily walk for 30 or more minutes in nature.

9. Find an engaging book to listen to or read.

10. Create fun weekend activities.

11. Minimize checking emails on weekends.

12. Stay connected to your friends and family by phone or online connections.

13. Have a Friday evening get together or Sunday dinner via Zoom.

14. Consider talking with a therapist to work out conflicts and tensions.

15. Meditate, pray or do a spiritual practice that helps you move beyond your immediate situation and see the bigger picture.

16. Volunteer or donate to a community organization that you believe in.

17. Acknowledge what others in the community are doing to support one another.

18. Take time for gratitude before each meal.

19. Smile- just to experience the shift in your energy in any moment.

20. Listen to music that nourishes your heart and soul.
